Act three involves the plan to get Beatrice to fall in love with Benedick and the other scheme to get Claudio to leave Hero at the alter. The meaning of the act is represented at the beginning of scene two when Don John delivers the fake news to Don Pedro and Claudio that Hero is unfaithful. He tells them that “I came hither to tell you; and, circumstances shortened, for she has been too long a-talking of, the lady is disloyal [...] go but with me tonight, you shall see her chamber window entered, even the night before her wedding day” (3.2.95-7, 105-7). Claudio’s day is ruined when he learns that his soon-to-be wife is betraying him. Don John makes his plan to ruin the wedding more dramatic and believable when he arranges for them to go watch her cheating on Claudio with another man. Claudio and Don Pedro should have been more focused on the marriage that was already happening. While they were trying to make Benedick and Beatrice fall in love, they gave Don John a clear opening for one of his schemes. His play an important role in the story because without it, it would not have been interesting. Much Ado About Nothing is very funny because of Don John. It is a little ironic that someone would do something like this just for fun. Don John did not have a specific reason to ruin the wedding, he was just bored and wanted to see something crash and
