Dreamland

In the novel “DreamLand” by Sarah Dessen is the main character Caitlin learns how to live without her older sister,Cass,being there by her side. Caitlin starts going down the wrong path and starts doing things that she knows isn’t right. She started feeling/getting lost when Cass left her and her family. She ends up falling for a guy named Rogerson when puts Caitlin in no good. The novel starts off with Caitlin’s 16th birthday when her and her family find out that Cassandra, Cass,has left the house. When her mom wakes up that morning to find a letter from Cassandra saying, “ Mom and Dad, I want you to know, first, that i’m sorry about this. Someday I hope I’ll be able to explain it well enough so that you’ll understand. Please don’t worry. I’ll be in touch. I love you both. Cass.” At that moment Caitlin’s mother Margaret had already assumed that she left to be with her boyfriend Adam. Caitlin's parents’ couldn’t believe that she left because in just two weeks she’s supposed to leave for Yale.

Caitlin and Cassandra has always been so close. Cassandra has always been the outgoing striving for first place, while Cassandra had second place medals and certificates. During this family crisis Rina,Caitlin’s best friend, has encouraged Caitlin to do cheerleading that she is pretty sure that Cassandra hasn’t done cheer before, Caitlin lets her friend talk her to doing cheerleading.
