Drinking Age Should Be Lowered

The drinking age has had quite a bit of controversy lately about whether or not the US should lower it. Many colleges have done studies on the pros and cons about it but the main worry for lowering the legal age is with the parents. The parents are mostly worried about if their kid/s will be smart enough not to get behind the wheel and a parent can only hope that he/she is smart enough to know. But when they are under the influence one can't be too sure. On the other hand most college students would say that the age needs to be lowered, because of all the 18-20 year olds that get caught at parties and getting underages.
The drinking age should be lowered because less teens will be getting caught with alcohol when they shouldn't have it. The age should be lowered to 18 because when you are 18 you are able to vote, and you are able to be sent to war. Besides that fact that you can vote and be sent off to war, most people see the age of 18 as “you are now an adult”. Kentucky, Wisconsin, and South Carolina have all lowered the drinking age to 18 but only for the people that are apart of the military. South Dakota would lower it to 18 and sell them only low-alcohol to them. Minnesota would only allow 18-20 year-olds to buy alcohol in a bar or restaurant but they will not sell it to them when they are in a liquor store.
