Drink Responsibly Most parents, like mine, allow their kids to have a sip of wine every now and then during dinner time or sometimes even have a bottle of beer. Why? Most parents will share the same logic. They believe that by allowing their kids to have a little freedom at home; will teach them, how to be responsible, how to be an adult, and how to not have the need to go out with friends to get drunk. I probably would raise my kids the same way one day because I believe that it is the responsible way. Children had already been raised and taught to know what is wrong and what is right. Either in school, at home, or from your other family members. Therefore, kids know well enough on making bad or good decisions. Teenagers, who have parents not letting them go out because they are concerned that their kids will drink, are probably thinking they will obey. But the truth is, teenagers have the urge to try new things. So no matter what the rules are at home, they will lie anyways and do what they want to do. The magic word is “no”. Once the word no has come out, that will just trigger teenagers to want to do it and chances are, they would find their way out to drink elsewhere. So wouldn’t it be better when your kids drink responsibly at home and know that they won’t lie to you and go somewhere else, drinking with other random kids at some random party with probably other illegal substances?
