To start this letter off, I am going to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a junior currently and am enrolled in concert band and am currently a mellophone in marching band. I plan on doing the string ensemble and jazz band when the time comes. One of my main focuses in high school and throughout middle school is music and being involved in band. I may have not done marching band for my freshman and sophomore year, but I am so glad I joined this year and got the opportunity to see how fun and enjoyable it is. At times it is tiring, but the TOB’s, football games, and bus rides make up for it. I am applying for drum major because I feel like I am a worthy competitor for this position. Again with the role model part, if you are positive and happy during a practice, everybody else may look at you and think, wow they believe in us, and those people will work even harder and those individuals go on the be great leaders. Commitment is always a big part to being a drum major. You have to commit to everything you do. You can’t just stop marking time as a drum major or the whole band flops. You have to commit to this role of being the leaders of the group, along with the section leaders who always do a great job. Other good qualities include: Confidence, Patience, and Honesty. I think I am fit for this role because I am a natural born leader even if it doesn't show most of the time. When I’m in a group for a project I always try to come up with a gameplan to execute the project to the best of it’s ability. I want to be the best drum major Polytech has ever seen (I think Katie and Amanda are great no offense to them). If I get the position of drum major I can 110% guarantee that I will be to every single practice, every game, every TOB,
