On January 7, 2018 at approximately 2220 hours, I observed a black Ford F150 pickup truck leaving the Grand BL motel located at 7804 Grand BL Port Richey, FL. The Port Richey Police Department has received numerous reports / complaints of illegal narcotics activity occurring at the Grand BL motel. I observed the Ford to be lacking a working tag light. I activated my unmarked patrol vehicle (116) emergency equipment to conduct a lawful traffic stop as the Ford was turning left (east) onto Richey DR. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the WAWA located at 8519 US HWY 19 Port Richey, FL. As The vehicle was coming to a stop I observed the W/M driver (sole occupant) appear to place something in his mouth.

A approached the W/M from the driver side of the vehicle and identified myself as a Port Richey Police Officer. I observed the W/M to be chewing something and have a small amount of green leafy substance in his beard. Due to my training and experience I believed the green leafy substance to be marijuana. I ordered the W/M to spit out what he was chewing on and he swallowed. I grabbed the W/M by his lower jaw in an effort to preserve evidence and again ordered him to spit out what he was chewing on. The W/M complied and spit a small amount of green leafy substance onto the floor board of the vehicle. …show more content…
