In today’s society, it is almost impossible for an individual to imagine life without technology. As humanity becomes more vulnerable and dependent, more technology comes into effect and perceives one’s mind out of existence. Technology is an everyday necessity that one needs to fulfill their day to day tasks. It has impacted the human mind in a way that it seems nearly impossible to overcome and have a life without technology. Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One depicts a similar kind of dystopian society where virtual technology has taken over human life, leaving them with no self esteem. Due to the resources in the real world deteriorating, it encourages individuals to leave reality and join the utopian world portrayed in the novel. A similar kind of proposition is presented by Andrew Stanton’s film WALL-E, where even if humans want their life back, technology would demolish all the means and provide them with false satisfaction. All three instances mentioned above reflects upon the negligence of human beings towards their society, how they should eradicate the main cause of this situation by minimizing the use of technology. It is uncanny how people cannot survive with or without the technology, how seriously it has become part of one’s life.
