Each model or frame of reference (FOR) is composed of a focus, theoretical base, function and disability, change and motivation, evaluation and intervention guidelines (Cole & Tufano, 2008). Within the focus each model or FOR includes specific domains that will be addressed (Cole & Tufano, 2008). The next component is the theoretical base, this section is composed of concepts that are established within the occupational therapy (OT) profession and other related professions (Cole & Tufano, 2008). “Function and disability serve the purpose of applying concepts from the theoretical base to individual clients or situations” (Cole & Tufano, 2008, p. 62).
