The Hot Zone, by Richard Preston, is a nonfictional account of Ebola and Marburg incidents in Africa and the monkey testing building in Reston, Virginia. In the beginning of the book, the reader is introduced to Charles Monet who dies of Marburg after contracting it in Kitum Cave of Mount Elgon, and then the reader is told about Nurse Mayinga who dies of Ebola Sudan, so her blood was sent to the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases(USAMRIID).
