The Hunger Games movie is part of a 3 book trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. With how popular the book was and how many copies they sold, the idea of a movie came up. The Hunger Games was filmed in several different locations, a couple of them being in the mountains and Ashville of North Carolina. The movie was filmed in the spring of 2011, and released in March of 2012. The filmed stared Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson. The movie was also filmed in an abandon ghost town about one hour away from Asheville. The movie has brought many visitors a tourist and has revitalized, and brought money into the town. The move itself cost about eighty-million dollars to make and produce, but sales are a different story. The movie brought in two-hundred million dollars in sales. The movie brought in sixty-two million dollars in sales to local economies, such as Charlotte, Asheville, Shelby, and Hilderbran. Hotels, restaurants, night clubs and more where the cast and crew stayed and hung out when not on set certainly benefited from the movie.
