There are many different opinions on how our government should be run, but in the end, the senate and/or the president decides how to run things to best help the economy. Some people may not like the way the government does certain things, but they are trying their best. If everyone agreed with everyone, well, that’s not even possible. My state initiative was to raise taxes on the top 5% class and also to tax the corporations more, so that leads to less loopholes and more giving to charities. We wanted to do this because this makes sense. People with more money, should get taxed more because they have to money to afford to. It would help the debt in the economy and it wouldn’t make sense to tax the poor because, well their poor. The government wouldn’t make as much compared to the rich. We also said to keep the community development in order not to play catch up, make the cities look more attractive, and to keep other countries away from the United States. Also, it gives communities parks, roads, streets, and housing developments so we can’t cut that; we need all of those things to run fluently. The senate supported taxing the top 5% of the people for many reasons. They supported this because like I said in the paragraph before, the rich have the money to get taxed and that gives the government more money. Taxing the rich wouldn’t work because there are a lot of very poor with little to no money, so then they go broke and don’t have any money. It would allow the government to have more money from taxing the top 5% for spending such as: government recourses, war upgrades, construction, etc. The list goes on and on for why the senate supported the right to tax the top 5% class more.
