The cause of Edgar Allan Poe’s death is unknown. Edgar Allan Poe was an author who wrote many short stories and poems in the 1800’s. In most of Edgar’s short stories and poems he has revenge written in them. Edgar wants revenge, but there are some chancy challenges that Edgar has to face, he eventually gets through some of the challenges, but some are too difficult to manage.In Poe’s short stories, revenge leads to bad news usually, this is shown throughout setting, plot, and character.

In the story, the servant doesn’t like the master’s eye and wants to have revenge on it by killing him. One night he snuck into the room after planning his work and killed the master. The police came to the house after hearing a report of shrieking, and after all the servant got caught. “And I did this for seven long nights-every night just at midnight-but I found the eye always closed.” This quote is telling us that the servant went into the master's room for seven nights and the eye was always closed. He hoped it would be open in one of those seven nights. This quote is planning the revenge so it’s the rising action, leading to the climax. “ With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room. He shrieked once-once only.” This quote tells us about the narrator killing the master because of the eye. This quote is the most intense so it would be the climax. He killed the master for revenge. Edgars revenge throughout his stories shows in his writing. Edgar Allan Poe which was very peculiar, wrote short stories and poems. In the first stories main point is Montresor wanted revenge on Fortunato because of an insult and also because of tuberculosis. The next story was about the narrator wanting revenge on the cat because he tripped him but, he killed his wife also because she tried to stop him.
