Starting his day at 7a.m., Eduardo Garcia, Assembly member of the 56th District from Coachella Valley rolled up his sleeves and helped the local food pantry packed boxes and delivered them to homes on Dec. 22.
With companions Aurora Saldivar field representative and Carlos Gonzalez, Policy Director from Sacramento, the day was an exciting day for the city of Blythe.
As added support to Loyd and Pat Hollingsworth’s volunteers list at the Pantry, Garcia volunteered his time and services, by bringing cheer to 100 families through the gift of giving.
Specially packing boxes with food items to make a hearty turkey and ham dinner, Garcia was able to give back to one of the communities he represents.

Meeting many locals over hot macchiato, fruit infused tea and holiday creamed sweets, Garcia, Saldivar, Gonzalez, along with Arizona Department of Transportation, Blythe Police Department and California Highway Patrol collaborated with the public to build community relations. ““This free event is an excellent opportunity to engage with residents on state and local issues, share resources and learn how I can better serve Blythe,” Garcia said.
With an engaging ear, listening to the Starbucks attendees, Garcia and his staff took comments, requests and learned of ways they can help the people of Blythe at both the state and district level.
In addition to his busy day, Garcia also made time to help CHP with the toy drive they hosted on Thursday.
“By helping with the donation today, I want to make sure no child goes without a toy this holiday season,” Garcia said.
