Edvard Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He was born on June 15, 1843. Edvard was Norway’s most famous musical son, but Grieg hated school. In his hometown it would rain a lot so he would purposely forget his umbrella so his teacher would send him back home. He had a “lucky frog” wich was his concert companion. Before stepping onto stage as a pianist or a conductor, he would rub his lucky frog in his pocket for good luck. When he was six years old he started taking piano lessons with his mother. His mother's brother-in-law later encouraged him to go to Leipzig Conservatory. He studied at Leipzig for four years and graduated with honors.
