Edward Gein was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to a spiritually fervent mother. Gein was raised by his mother and her religious teachings. As Gein began to mature, her rarely if ever left the house or even dated women due to his incessant devotion to his mother. After the passing of Gein’s mother, things begin to change. Gein became mentally distraught, and began exhuming the bodies of recently deceased women. During his exhuming process, he would take body parts from the women’s bodies, and collect them as a sort of hobby ("Ed Gein: Real American Psycho."). Once exhuming deceased bodies began to run its toll, Gein switched his focus to murder ("Ed Gein: Real American Psycho.”). He was implicated in the murders of two women, Mary Hogan and Benice Worden ("Ed Gein Kills Final Victim Bernice Worden."). Upon investigation of the two women’s murders, it was found that Gein had been having sexual intercourse with deceased bodies, commonly known as necrophilia. Gein was also found to have been experimenting with human taxidermy as well. Gein should be charged for multiple counts of desecrating a grave, multiple counts of desecrating a corpse, and two counts of first degree murder. Gein methodically disrupted, dismembered, and transported multiple women’s corpses. In order to get to the corpse, Gein had to disturb and dig up these women’s burial sites. As for the first – degree murder charges, it is apparent that Gein was not simply killing these women in a burst of passion.
