In the video “Edward Weston: The Photographer (1948)”, the speaker Tom Johnston says that “he [Edward Weston ] thinks his works reflect what the world around him.” This shows exactly how Weston is as a photographer which is no matter what the subjects are, they can be vegetables, landscapes, shells or bodies, Westons lens captures the essence of its life force, the fundamentals of its form. Johnston also states that “it’s not the camera, but his eyes. He is the man who can search energetically and patiently the places he likes.” He empowering his prints with an intrinsic grace and elegance.
