Deities and the afterlife majorly influenced architecture in the Ancient Near East and Ancient Egypt under the Pharaohs. Deities are shown in architecture in the Ancient Near East many times throughout history; however, one of the most prominent examples is the white temple and ziggurat in Uruk (modern Warka), Iraq. This example is from 3200-3000 BCE. In addition, the afterlife had a major influence on architecture in Ancient Egypt under the Pharaohs. One example is the Egyptian mastaba tombs in Memphite region in Egypt. The mastabas are from around 2381-2323 BCE. All in all, the deities and afterlife influenced art, specifically architecture in the Ancient Near East and Ancient Egypt under the Pharaohs.
