Elizabeth Eckford's Little Rock Nine

Elizabeth Eckford was part of the Little Rock Nine, a group of nine African American students who attended Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas, a segregated school before the Little Rock Nine. This decision was made after Brown v. Board of Education, that composed of five separate cases that dealt with segregation in schools. The resulting decision was that schools separated but not equal in 1954. The National Association for Advancement of Colored People(NAACP) recruited Minnijean Brown, Terrance Roberts, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Thelma Mothershed, Melba Patillo, Gloria Ray, Jefferson Thomas, and Carlotta Walls to be part of the Little Rock Nine, in order to attempt to integrate Central High School. Throughout the school year,
