Oprah, known for being a host, actress and philanthropist as well as one of the richest African American women, while Ellen is known for being a halrious stanndup comedian & actress also being one of the most richest lesbians, both show a different point of entertainment but also have many similarities . After being reconized as the " funniest girl in America " , she did an apperance on " The night Show Starring Johnny Cursun" in 1986 . Coming out to America as being reconized as gay, many veiwers stoped and turned away from her . Being that a strong talented lady cannot stand up for who she truley is did not bring her down as a person , but only to bring her up . She started her own telivision show that within three years today has everyone in Amerian obsessed with . Making 45 million dollars a year , Ellen is a wealthy women . On the other hand Oprah Winfrey had a much longer road before launching her own telivision show . Born into povery and an abused family , Oprah put it all aside to focus on what what she loved doing the most . School came first in her eyes and by the age of 19 she was working at the local evening news and the station’s first African-American anchor. A move to Baltimore saw her headhunted to co-host a talk show called People Are Talking. After that she moved to Chicago to take over a low-rated morning TV show and pursue her future. Her emotional confessional style and the ability to get people to open up saw the show quickly become the station’s number one talk show. Oprah offically opened up a school in South Africa" Oprah Winfrey leadership academy" for the disadvantaged women, helping over 150 girls get a future ." I wanted to give this opportunity to girls who had a light so bright that not even poverty could dim that light,"(Whinfrey). When it comes to celebrities and philanthropy, few give more than Oprah Winfrey , Oprah donates millions of dollars of her own money to fund her interests and charities. A large amount of her giving goes through three main charities : The Angel Network, The Oprah Winfrey Foundation; and The Oprah Winfrey Operating Foundation, which maily focuses in South America on her Leadership Academy
