In the book night by Elie Wiesel elie is a young teenage boy who is taken away from his home by the nazi are while Elie's family remains calm and compliant. In spring, authorities begin shipping trainloads of Jews to the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex. Elie's family is part of the final convoy. In a cattle car, eighty villagers can scarcely move and have to survive on minimal food and water. Once they get to the concentration camp they are seperated from one another and Elie is forced to fend for himself to survive. Over the course of the book,the main character Ellie changes from A regular boy to being full of despair. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to the theme as a whole. ‘someone is knocking at the sealed window , the one that faces outside !’. Ellie gets kicked out of his home and is placed inside the jewish ghetto with his family and is soon split apart. This moment shows that Ellie soon has to adapt to a new way of life and how he has to make adjustments.In the camp jews were eliminated fast if they weren't able to put into a hard day's work of harsh labor.

When Elie gets moved to his first concentration camp he immediately get separated from his family and left with hard labor and has to adapt and fend for himself in the camp.’But I no longer pleaded for anything.I was no longer able to element’.’Once they moved me i felt empty and i was alone ‘.
