This reveals who elon musk is, socially, and in his business mindset alike.
This is representative of all the ventures Elon has been on. Originally, with Zip2, he was so set on his idea, he would go to work for days at a time, just spending the night on a bean bag chair because he had the opportunity, and had passion for his work, he set his sight on delivering a service and just blew people away when it was acquired by compaq for over 300 million dollars. He is a do or die type person, and that is what is responsible for his success. Elon will not relent when he has money to spend on his companies. Though other people see it as risk, his investments into his own companies are the only thing that kept them from bankruptcy and allowed them to return full throttle, and develop into powerhouses of industry.

Entry 4:
“That’s my lesson for taking a vacation: vacation will kill you.” (76)
This is during the period after his company, zip2, was acquired by Compaq, and Elon went on a vacation and nearly died from food borne illness.
This is important because it brings Elon right back to business, if that vacation had gone smoothly, he may never have founded Paypal, or any of his other ventures.
This shows that Elon is beyond the average Joe of humanity. The average Joe works to rest and relax while Musk works to change the world, and has, through experience, grown to despise vacations. If Musk hadn’tt had this experience the world may have wound up quite a bit different.

“We all worked 20 hours a day, and he worked 23 hours.” (107)
