Whether purposely seeking for the actions of the French Revolution between the lines of the script, it is self-evident in the movie of the scent and reign of terror illustrated in the movie. From the cheers of excitement from the guillotine fulfilling its purpose of slicing the head clean off the torso, or the multiple innocents lives lost to the hand of the “revolution” - nobody can deny that the French Revolution was portrayed properly. During these times, the guillotine was used as the main weapon of choice. By cleanly slicing off the head of the victim, the head was raised in front of a crowd for them to cheer. Their excitement filled the air, as they stopped knitting, reading, singing - to see the head of a renegade raised as they lay there lifelessly. Similar to like reality, there were people lined up to be put against the machine. Multiple times in the film people are executed without stopping, continuously. Similar to the deaths, the cheering had continued on much like the pride in their
