The King of Rock and Roll, otherwise known as Elvis Aaron Presley, lived a luxurious life. “He was born from the parents of Vernon Presley and Gladys Presley on January 8,1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi” (John). Mrs. Presley has actually given birth to twins but sadly Elvis’s brother was born still born. Elvis grew up to be very kind hearted, a hard worker and a womanizer.
“Elvis graduated from Humes High School in 1953” (K, Donald). He was a hard worker and worked many jobs. He worked in the school library to help out after school, he was a truck driver and worked for the company of Crown Electric, earning 1 dollar an hour. Elvis began to star in movies, his first movie was Love Me Tender, in 1956. He also sang the title song for this movie and it also became number one. “By the mid sixties he was spending more time on his acting than his singing career” (Barnes). In 1968 Elvis made a comeback by performing various songs in one of his movie. A year later he released the album From Elvis In Memphis which contained the top song, “Suspicious MInds.” In between all of this, Elvis married the beautiful Priscilla Presley. They were married on May 1, 1967 in Las Vegas. He was 32 and she was 21. On February 1, 1968 Priscilla gave birth to their only child, Lisa Marie. By 1973 Elvis' drug dependency and infidelity led to the couple's divorce. Priscilla was the only women Elvis ever married. Supposedly Elvis did have many affairs and shared his charms with many other women.
Elvis Presley lived a great life. He accomplished many things. Elvis had platinum songs published and performed in many, many movies. He endured million of dollars from the accomplishments of his successes. Won the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture.
