The desired properties required for embalming of cadavers include: a) long- term structural preservation of body, with minimal shrinkage and distortion, b) prevention of over hardening and maintaining flexibility c) prevention of fungal, bacterial growth d) reduction of hazards to the staff and students e) and retention of color of tissue and organs.
