In my time in A&P lab, it has taught me many things in which I can apply to my career as an EMT. EMT's must be able to work under pressure while applying his/her medical knowledge in order to save lives. Although, before someone can become a licensed paramedic, they must first prove to have a good understanding of the human body. This class has helped me to cover the basics in anatomy so that I can better understand the human body, along with it's functions. A&P lab has also taught me how to think analytically for the purpose of correctly and accurately assessing various situations. Lastly, this class was important in the way it teaches it's students to take care in their work so that they can more easily avoid mistakes.
When working as a paramedic, you need to have a good knowledge of the human body. In Survey of A&P lab, I was taught the basics of human structure and function. Having this basic understanding under my belt, it will make it easier to not only pass future anatomy classes, but help me assess the injured in a better fashion when I become an EMT. Survey of A&P lab helps to mold your mind into thinking that way. For example, when we were looking at the different varieties of blood cells, you needed a perceptive mind to point out the many different assortments of white blood cells. The white blood cells were tricky to point out and name, but with an interpretive way of thinking, you can easily see and retain the type of cell you are looking at. This type of situation is common for an EMT because of the way they must correctly analyze the status of the injured. If you make a wrong judgment, it could be detrimental to the person's well being. Combining an analytical mindset with a good medical knowledge is important for the training of a skilled
