I love how Kahlen risks her life just to be with him, and she would've done anything to keep him safe. I love how Akinli accepts her for who she is even though he believes she is mute, and it makes their love story even more captivating. I also like the fact that the antagonist in the story is none other than the Ocean, Kahlen's closest thing to a mother. Also, I liked the siren mythology.
