"Imagine" written by John Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

What is “good” writing?
Yes, this song has been heard time and time again, but that’s exactly what I want to talk about. Everyone just “hears” this song. No one actually listens, and I don’t feel you even get a complete understanding of the song until you read these lyrics. The message is incredible. John Lennon discusses the idea of the lack of a heaven or hell. “And no religion too”, as he puts it, is to exist in a world with no lines or religious sects. He asks the audience to imagine a world with no countries, a life where we are Team Earth. He then goes on to explain that some may say he is a dreamer, as if everything he says isn’t possible. However, he isn’t the only one, and that he hopes someday…
