The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of reason launched around the mid 1600's to late 1700's. This intellectual movement embarked in Europe by the early philosophers. Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Voltaire, and Montesquieu was some of the philosophers who influenced this movement. They were called the Enlightenment thinkers.
