1) I think Nazario experienced the “better side” of Enrique’s Journey. The author experienced everything until she felt that she was in a dangerous situation. She then uses her resources such as credit card, hotels, a letter from the Mexican authorities to get her out of trouble. Unlike Enrique and many other migrants did not have those connections and are forced to do without and struggle. Yes, it changes her ethos because she did not experience the true struggle.
2) I think Lourdes did what she thought was best for her children. Leaving her children was a difficult situation but she does it to support them by sending money. She knows that she must leave to create a better life for herself and children. A mother knows best
