'Entitled' By Brock Novak: Article Analysis

According to Brock Novak, the millennial generation are horrible people, horrible leaders, and expect everything to be handed to us. Out of the many statements Novak says about millennials, in his article “Millennials--The ‘Entitled’ (or GenMe)” the highlights include: comparing us to parasites; claiming that we will fail in the real world; and saying we were rewarded too often causing us to be soft. Although, Novak does mention that Millennials are not COMPLETELY at fault for our tendencies. He mentions that the baby boomers did not let us Millennials fail, causing us not to learn anything from our mistakes. Novak’s final point is made by warning the boomers to pay for their own funeral expenses by following “the seven P’s” “Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance”(5).

Without any self-esteem we would not have the confidence to do anything. Without any confidence then the stereotypes people believe about millennials might actually come true. That we are lazy, lousy leaders, and feel entitled just for existing.
A lot of people say that we don't have any leaders as millennials. But how are we expected to be leaders if we're not told that we are unique. If everyone is the same and we can't have leaders, nor followers. Why try to win if everyone's going to get a trophy? Millennials have a unique way of living. We are very different than any of the other Generations, we are special, we are unique, and we are wonderful! And I guess it doesn't really matter if you tell us because most of us are confident enough to know that we are. And if we're not our peers. Our other millennials, encourage us to believe so.
