“Thank you everyone for coming, as we are gathered here to support Kino and Juana and mourn little Coyotito who was abruptly taken from us.” The Priest carried on but Kino wasn’t able to listen. All he could do was stare at Coyotito’s tiny coffin, the one that he should’ve never been placed in, Kino thought furiously. The song of anger had been with him ever since they had come back. “If only that woman had listened to me” he thought “if she had left like I told her, Coyotito might still be alive!”
Kino believed that Juana blamed herself as well. She sobs all night long, every night, she never looks him in the eye anymore, out of shame. Juana has no one else to blame but herself.

Coyotito was gone and there wasn’t anything anyone could do. “That disastrous pearl has ruined this family. Kino should have seen the evil that came with it. The evil was in it and around it and there was no way to fix or avoid it without destroying it.” Juana thought as she continued to walk behind Kino, scowling at him. I sent him to make sure your family was okay, to make sure your child hadn’t died from the poison. I tried to save your son and in return you killed mine.” The Doctor smiled “You seem to be doing that a lot” The Doctor stood up. “This ani- I mean, this man killed his son, he’s killed my son, who’s son will be next?” He asked the court. There was a low murmur of agreement around the room. Everyone wanted him gone. No one looked into anything. Juana wasn’t talking to him anymore. The judge looked at Kino, “This will continue tomorrow.” He banged his gavel and left. The police took Kino back to his cell. There, waiting, was The Priest. “Hello Father, what are you doing here?” Kino looked over where the Priest stood. “I’ve come to tell you that you should keep hope. Everything that’s happened will get better.” The Priest glanced over to the door. Juana slowly walked in. She nodded at the Priest as he walked
