Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a nonprofit organization which provides legal support to individuals who cannot afford proper legal representation. At EJI we believe that a man is more than the worst he has done. This is why we also help convicted felons who have been subjected to unfair and harsh sentences.

We have found that one in every nine death row inmate is innocent. Under the light of this knowledge, supporting those in need is ever more important. Walter McMillan was a middle-aged black man condemned to death for a murder he did not commit. Our organization, with assistance from our charitable patrons, secured a new trial for him and after a series of hearing we were able to prove his innocence. And now Walter is a free man. There are many other people wrongly convicted and unfairly sentenced to harsh punishments. And with your support, we can help the get the justice they deserve.

As a responsible and resourceful member of the society, it is our duty to give back to the community we live in. And what better way to do that than by helping the incarcerated?
