Erick's Response ? "Teens are just as sedentary as 60 year olds", says Alice Park; and a lot of kids do not realize this because being a teen is probably one of the best feelings in the world (Park 4). Kids don't have to worry about anything at all to be honest. For example, kids don't have a job, don't need to worry about money and bills, it's just up to the adults to do everything, but what a lot of kids don't think about is there their health. According to an article published by Alice Park, fitness during the teen years can have a great impact on a person's life. Everybody knows that being healthy during the teen years can be kinda tough. These results are probably due to an increase of modern technology, for example videos games, T.V, computers, phones, and plenty more. This proves that Social Media is distracting these kids from there health which is putting them at risk. Although, these results might have been different if kids knew the importance of fitness during the teen years. Why is fitness so important for the teens? Well based on research by Dan Brennan, exercise can have a good affect on Weight loss, Muscle Strengthening and definition, better mood, and plenty more (Brennan 6). He recommends that teens walk up to a total of 4 miles a day, weather its walking to school then walking back or even walking a mile before dinner. By following this daily routine you can loose up to 1,600 calories a week and see an difference. A difference you ask, by continuing this, not only will improve a person's physical body but also their mental health.
