Ernest Green, during integration, was scared as any teenager would be seeing a mass of angry people hurling insults, and threatening him with physical harm. Oldest of the Little Rock Nine, Ernest Green was the first African-American to graduate from a once all-white school. In his early life, Ernest Green attended church frequently, and was a boy scout. Green’s mother was a member of the NAACP and took part in protests against unequal pay between white and blacks. In 1957 he was one of the first African American to go to Arkansas Central High. In 1958, he was the very first African American to graduate from a high school that taught only white students. Sitting unnoticed by Green’s parents side at graduation, was Martin Luther King Jr. thesis/conclusion
