Fashion in the 1920 Fashion is always evolving throughout the years being for the good or bad. The late 1800s was filled with tight corsets and slim waists. Women would spend hours fitting into the clothing. The fashion was very figure hugging and flirty. Coming into the 1900s things started to transform in women fashion, jewels, make up, and more confident looks. The Nineteen Seventies was filled with fun fashion and nonchalant styles. The 1990s showed off the ladies figures once more and leaving less to the imagination. Leading up to the present time there was tons of innovations in women's style, but the “roaring 20s” is still one of the largest developments in fashion history. After the “hard-won battle” (Jailer-Chamberlain) at last women felt that they could do whatever a man could do, introducing the more boyish clothing items. The war gave the idea that if you had youth, you have to live it to the fullest, and that is when jazz and dancing came into play. Because of the war many men and women were dead or disfigured, tons of single men and women looking for a soul mate. and that's when clubs became popular, so singles could mingle (Mulvey and Richards 68). The music of this era also effected fashion to a great extent, designers made clothes easy to dance and move in. Women feeling so empowered after the war, dancing, and clubs where all huge things that affected the fashion in 1920s. A Lot changed in fashion through those years. Fashion has evolved a great amount over time, but obviously the 1920s was a huge Transformation point in the fashion industry. Fast cars, new and improved devices, and the end of the World War 1 were all big things going on during this amazing age. The fashion industry was booming with jewels and new looks. Clubs and music influenced many adult styles and looks. ¨It was a frenetic few years, magical with change and gaiety, never to be repeated or forgotten.¨
