How are Burmese Pythons affecting the Everglades? Burmese Pythons were brought into Florida as pets. When these pythons (pets) get too big they are being let out into the Everglades or some other wild area by their owners. The presence of Burmese Pythons is negatively affecting the local animals, people, and ecosystem of the Florida Everglades. To begin with, Burmese Pythons are affecting the local animals in the Florida Everglades. This is known because in source four it states “And, yes, if we want to preserve the ecosystem of the Everglades, we have to address it.” What this means is that if the people want to help the ecosystem and protect it they have to find a way to get rid of the invasive pythons. Another piece of evidence if found in source 2 it states tens of thousands pythons now live in the Everglades and since they are thriving in the warm humid climate. What this means is that since they are thriving in the warm, humid climate they will keep reproducing and will affect the ecosystem even more than they are no. One last piece of evidence is found in source 1 it says many owners discover that the pythons are more than they can handle and resort to the worst possible solution and they let the pythons go in the Everglades or some other wild area. What this means is that since the pythons are being let out into the wild or the Everglades since they are not from their originally they will change the ecosystem.
