Canada: The Largest Coastline in the World

Positioned as the northern most country in North America, Canada contains more land mass than any other country other than Russia (“Canada Facts”). With a thriving central ethnic group, not so different from that of the United States, Canada positions itself well in the Global picture as a large landmass with a healthy economy. Canada contains within its vast borders a thriving people, a booming economy, free-trade success, a stable Government, as well as an adequate military. To evaluate the nation of Canada, first it’s needed to evaluate the Canadian people and societal factors by which they are affected. Seeing how it is both equally uninhabited wasteland to the north and manufacturing mogul in the south (“Canada Facts”). Canada currently has a recorded GNP of 1.498 trillion dollars which appears seemingly small for the second largest country in the world (“GNP”). Particularly compared to the United States GNP of 16.99 trillion (“GNP”). With a seemingly growing economy Canada could improve given more time. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is perhaps the single greatest thing that has happened to the nation of Canada in the last century (“Canada Facts”). (NAFTA) completely jumpstarted trade between the three North American countries (“Canada Facts”). As a direct result of NAFTA Canada now conducts 80% of its trade with the United States (“Canada Facts”). That astronomical figure explains exactly how important the North American Free Trade Agreement and the United States are to the Canadian economy.
