Who am I as a writer? As a writer I am a Guard member that means to me that I am a hard-worker that never gives up and can always recover from anything that happens. I was a color/winter guard member with the Marching Band all throughout high school. Guard was one of the best things that I had during school it made me feel like I belonged somewhere. Color Guard is a part of the band and can be described as the visual that interprets the music through dance, flags, rifles, sabers, and air blades. Winter Guard is when we get to perform without the band on a tarp and is usually in the gym and not on the football field. The Color Guard performs during half time of the football games but, to me I think that the football game is the opening act for the marching band.

Guard helps you connect positively with friends that could quite possibly last forever. We were not an imitation of the cheer leaders or the ROTC but something different all on its own. Guard gave me friends and a family when I really needed one during a hard part of my life. We had many quotes that we lived by. One of the first things that you learn is to never give up and to always have a fast and speedy recovery. A very big thing that we learned which I think is the most important one is to be responsible for nobody but yourself and be able to adapt to anything that gets thrown at you. As a writer I am what makes up a guard member which is Adaptable, Responsible, Determined, Persistent, and Hard working. The one thing that you hear the most is to always perform all out in whatever you do whether it is in guard or just in life in general. This lesson will always be with me in everything that I
