Critical thinking involves the use of a group of connected skills to analyze, creatively participate, and evaluate what you read and hear so you can make the most educated decisions. It’s about not trusting the first piece of information you are told, or going along with popular opinion based solely on the fact that many other individuals believe in something. Critical thinking is the ability to apply reasoning and logic to new or unfamiliar ideas, opinions, and situations. Thinking critically involves seeing things in an open-minded perspective and examining an idea or concept from as many angles as possible. This significant skill allows people to look beyond their own views of the world and to better comprehend the opinions of others. It is often used in debates, to form more convincing and well-rounded arguments, and in science.
In terms of critical thinking, the basic level of attainment of knowledge requires that you be able to identify what is being assumed: the topic, the issue, the thesis, and the main points. Become a knowledgeable individual by obtaining knowledge and pursuing topics that interest you. Comprehension means understanding the material read, heard or seen.
