Imagine not having to drive around everywhere, not worrying about getting into car accidents. Wouldn’t that be the greatest feeling ever? After much hard work, driverless cars are finally coming to fruition.

What are driverless cars?
Driverless cars are vehicles that are designed to travel to destinations without a human driver or operator. Many people call them self-driving cars, automated cars, or autonomous vehicles. They have many parts to them that make up how they work. Driverless cars have radar sensors which can help monitor the positions of surrounding vehicles. They also have lidar sensors which assist in identifying lane markings and detecting the edge of the road. One of the last components they have are video cameras that can spot traffic lights, read road signs, look out for pedestrians and they check for obstacles.

According to many sources, by 2025, driverless cars will cost from about $7,000 to $10,000. From 2030, they are said to cost approximately $5,000 and by 2035 they will be priced at roughly $3,000. Several companies are trying to manufacture driverless cars more efficiently and rapidly than others.
