Is flag burning a part of speech, many people have opinions on this question but the answer still remains unknown. To help out my statement the united states Supreme Court ruled in Texas against Johnson in 1989 that flag burning is protected by the First Amendment's Free Speech. President bush prohibited flag burning in the united state of America because due to the fact that a man publicly burnt the Stars upon hearing that the civil rights leader James Meredith had been shot. Another example to help out my statement is that in the book “ American Government” it states that congress did pass a law which stated that if anyone burns or disrespects the flag in any way or form then that person may be entitled to punishment. In the other hand the government couldn't really do much about it because they don't control how people think and how they view certain perspectives. In case they did have their point of view in this situation people wouldn't agree with it or they wouldn't listen.
If someone said they are going to burn down the American flag and having someone actually burn it down those two things are very different from each other. For example I agree that people have the right to have freedom of speech because the people's voice is a powerful thing. Without people having to say there opinions on the flag burning or on anything then America wouldn't be America because its our nation and we make decisions by protesting. Us the people have done and achieved a lot by protesting whether the government likes it or not. For example the things that are happening today are in my opinion outrageous because ever since trump has been president, immigrates have been deported and a lot of Americans are burning the Mexican flag. Mexicans did and still are doing lots of protest around America because they don't think it's fair. I say this
