At first you hear the sweet serenity of silence, but then PEW PEW PEW! Your child is laying cold and unresponsive, for what? For five bucks he had in his pocket. The most controversial problem in today’s society, gun violence. There are many different voices talking about gun violence, but there are also millions of people that believe that guns are beneficial. What makes gun violence so interesting is that people feel like everyone should have guns for self-defense, but defense from what? Defense from people with other guns that are choosing to be irresponsible with them. Gun violence is one of the most important problems in today’s society, people need to learn how to be responsible and take care of their guns. Gun control is a “cause that needs a voice” (Gina Davis).
Gun Violence has been a huge issue in the American society since 1996. According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention approximately “34,040 people died from gunfire in the United States” in 1996. Gun Violence became an issue for Americans when people started using them for more than self-defense or big game hunting. Americans would use guns to commit crimes such as murder and theft.
