The movie Avatar connects to imperialism in the 19th and 20th century through cultural Beliefs, Natural Resources and military. The Cultural Beliefs that took place in Pandora were similar to Africa along with India. The value of natural resources that brought the Humans to Pandora were similar to India. Also the military weapons that were used in the movie Avatar was similar to the ones used in Ethiopia. The Navi were a very spiritual tribe which tied into the Indian way of life. The Navi were very secret people, they believed in a higher power by the name of Eywa. Eywa was believed to keep the ecosystem of Pandora in perfect equilibrium. The Navi had many cultural beliefs that influenced how they view situations. Eywa is their goddess who they worshipped under the tree of souls. Their goddess is the one they went to for answers when they didn’t know where to turn. The Navi depended on Eywa as though it was their mother. However the “sky

The Europeans Attempted to colonize the Africans and take away their freedom which is the only thing they really had. The article Africa Back states “Ethiopia was the only African nation that successfully resisted the Europeans”. Ethiopia just like the Navi only had simple weapons but also gained modernized weapons similar to how the Navi did toward the end of the movie which gave them a higher chance of winning. Even with the week protection, the Africans were also willing to sacrifice themselves for their nation as well as their freedom.
