In his New York Times Bestseller, Look Me In The Eye: My Life With Asperger’s, John Elson Robison details the struggles and successes that led him to where he is today. From the lonely halls of a school that never really understood him, to the University engineering labs, and later designing the famous rock band, KISS’s, flaming guitar, John Robison learned a great deal about himself, the world around him, and how to survive as an outsider. John opted to spend most of his time at a University where he worked on repairing electronics. After dropping out of high school, Robison’s life entered a new chapter where he made friends with a Vietnam Veteran, joined a friend’s band, and crossed the gateway to adulthood. With his talent for modifying and fixing musical instrumentation, John made his way into the big leagues. He worked to design the flaming guitar of the rock band, KISS, and was finally “successful” as the world would see it. Robison goes on to work in the gaming industry for Milton Bradley, but leaves the position after being treated so poorly by his colleagues.
