The Mongol Empire was one of the greatest empires to ever exist. From Vietnam to Hungary, from 1206-1368, with its 9,266,452 contiguous square miles, the Mongol empire is the 2nd biggest empire to ever exist in the history of the world. First, ruled by Genghis Khan, it was one of the greatest empires to ever exist along with the districts it was made up of.
The Mongol Empire was first started by one man named Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan was first born with the name Temujin to a lowly clan. When he was little, his father was poisoned by a rival clan that offered him food and he died. Therefore, Temujin’s brother was left to take care of him. Temujin’s brother later died because he got in an argument with Temujin and he killed him. After that Temujin got his first wife and they had 4 sons, Jochi, Ogedai, Chagatai, and Tolui. When you add up all of the qualities, you get one amazing soldier. Another reason the Mongols were so successful was the fact that the soldiers they were up against wore heavy armor and chainmail. Chain mail was good for protection against swords but they were no match for the arrows and spears that the Mongols used. Also, the Mongols were uncommonly adaptable . Though they had never seen a castle before in their life, they became experts at siege warfare by interrogating prisoners. They also adopted gunpowder, introducing it to Europeans, and they even built ships to attacked Japan. That could have happened too, except there were typhoons that thwarted the invasion both times. Actually, most of the time, the Mongols had less soldiers than their foes. They still managed to deceive their enemies by elaborate ruses like mounting dummies atop horses, and tying sticks to the horses’ tails to create dust
