Foundation Native Americans are known to be the first inhabitants of North America before Christopher Columbus arrived in the 15th century. It is believed that the Native Americans migrated to North America from Asia according to Michael Waters, geologist and archaeologist, and not from Europe. (https://student.societyforscience.org/article/where-native-americans-come) Native Americans have, in most cases, and still receive unfair treatment from Europeans who have taken credit for many of their customs and teachings. Native Americans culture is a significant part of American history although not given the deserved acknowledgement. The economic, political, social history, educational information, gender roles of family members, religion, and the popular culture of Native Americans will be addressed in the following sections of this report. “The Native American reservation is usually geographically isolated and underdeveloped, perpetually left off the list of tourism destinations” (insert citation). The unemployment rate among Native Americans is at a high rate which correlates to the skyrocket of poverty. Native American fashion of today’s popular culture represents tribal wear that is worn by most all people of various ethnic groups and nationalities. Native American dances are diverse and have always been significant to Native Americans. Most dances are used in religious actives but others are held to give thanks and big celebrations.
