It is known that one out of three americans is obese and most of these people in the United States have had a constant consumption of fast food. Which is why, although not clear, many believe that the issue of obesity in America is very much correlated to eating junk food. The American lifestyle has developed to become one thing and only one thing: convenient. Nowadays everything is fast paced and busy schedule, making americans to satisfy their needs with affordable means. Therefore, there’s an increase of junk food popularity, but this “cheap way” of resolving our needs is what’s affecting the health of this country. That is why, it is truly necessary that the government incorporates a tax on junk food for the sake of the future of this country. Although “Diet is hardly the only factor behind America's obesity epidemic. Still, eating a healthier diet rich in fruits and vegetables is one of the most effective ways to prevent unnecessary weight gain” (Kalaidis). As various research and studies have shown , raising the prices of all fast food and unhealthy beverages would result in a decline of buying and consumption of unhealthy foods and a decline in preventable diseases as well. On tv, radios and any other source of media they’re talking about issues to solve to make it a better world, but if you frankly think about it, how can we make the world a better place if our own country is going through an epidemic of obesity that in the long run results with death. Basically there will not even be a world if there is no population to vacant it. A valid solution to this would be the less of an unhealthy diet that contains junk food, which could be reachable if the government states a taxation on it, executes a better and healthier future for this
