Physical Therapist
Introduction:
Physical therapists are an important part of rehabilitation, treatment, and prevention of chronic conditions, illnesses, or injuries. Therapists examine the individuals and create a plan by using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, and restore full range of motion. Physical therapists help injured or ill people improve their movement and manage their pain through many exercises to make their daily lives more sustainable. Therapists also teach their patients how to manage their conditions or injuries so that they will gain long-term health benefits ("Physical Therapist." Occupational Outlook Handbook. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Preparations and Qualifications:
In order to be a Physical therapist, one must: achieve a Bachelors degree, achieve a Masters degree in physical therapy, and complete an internship ("Physical Therapist." Illinois WorkNet Home). One may also achieve a DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy). Alternatively, one may apply to, and complete, a clinical residency program after graduation or go to a

Physical therapists also have to make sure the environment the patient is working in wont be dangerous to their patient, such as balls they could roll up on or other objects. Also PTs spend much of their time on their feet working one on one with their patients. Most PTs work during normal business hours, and some may even work evenings or weekends ("Physical Therapist." Illinois WorkNet Home). However, Physical therapists are not required to travel besides going to work or possibly going to school. Most Physical therapy practices are located in Urban or Suburban settings, but they can range to anywhere including worldwide. In this line of work there are no opportunities for advancement unless you change your line of work or open up your own
