Some of Margaret Sanger’s biggest accomplishments was during her fight for Women’s Rights. During her fight for Women’s Right she founded a health clinic called Planned Parenthood. Sangers’ experience was described as, “There, after she officially retired as president, she heard herself pronounced founder and president emeritus of the International Planned Parenthood Federation” (Reed 266). According to Planned Parenthood, Planned Parenthood is a “health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.” (“Who We Are”). Planned Parenthood is one of “America’s most trusted providers of reproductive health care” and “is a respected leader in educating Americans about reproductive and sexual health” (“Who We Are”). This is shown through the fact that Planned Parenthood just celebrated its 100 years of being open. Clearly Planned Parenthood is an effective idea on Sanger’s part, due to the fact that it has survived this many years. Planned Parenthood not only survived this long but it also has done a lot for those in need. For example according to Planned Parenthood’s website they have given 80 percent of their patients services to prevent unintended pregnancy which has prevented approximately 579,000 unintended pregnancies in a single year.
