Ringworm, also known as Dermatophytosis, is a highly contagious infection of the skin caused by a fungus. Typically, Ringworm will appear as a dry, itchy, and crusty red rash in the shape of a circle. The patches may then begin to turn into blisters and ooze. Ringworm is easily noticed when the area around the patch of skin is raised and redder, looking like a ring. The condition can be passed from human to human by having physical contact or by sharing personal belongings and clothes. Ringworm can also be transmitted by animals that are affected by the condition.
Medical professionals can diagnose Ringworm by performing an examination of the affected area of skin with a blacklight. If the area is indeed infected with Ringworm, the patch of skin will glow under the light. To further the
